Do you remember?

It was long time since the last post, I'm lazy I know :), but I would like to close this histories with a small summary of what I remember from last year.
I met a lot of nice people there, and I know that I'm not going to see many of them again, but I'll not forget them so easily :)
I was trying to put all of you in this video, to make like small present for those with whom I share that great year.
I promise that I tried but was impossible to find stuff from some of you, anyway I think all of you are there doing some weird stuff :)

Sin noticias (1st)

Algo mas de un mes sin tener noticias de mi. Pues bien sigo en Dinamarca y vivo, que con el tiempo que hace no es poco.

Las asignaturas

Volví de navidades para hacer los examenes que me quedaban.
La verdad es que me ha ido mucho mejor de lo que esperaba. Las asignaturas en su mayoría tenian mucha base práctica y eran relativamente interesantes. Aparte de las clases de inglés, otra asignatura sobre metodología de proyectos y un proyecto propiamente dicho (Llamado Cachondo) un breve resumen de lo que me han dado hasta ahora:

- Compiler Construction: Básicamente era crear un compilador en base a una gramática que nos hemos inventado, bastante interesante y el nota final era en base a la funcionalidad que habiamos alcanzado en el compilador (Busqueda de tokens y errores sintáxticos, parseo del código, analisis del contexto, ejecución...)

- Linux Server Administration: Podia haber resultado mas interesante si el profesor no faltara el 50% de las clases, pero aún así algo de Linux si que he aprendido aunque fuera en los ultimos dias previo examen.

- Wireless Communication: Bastante teorica pero en la parte práctica aprendes bastante sobre programación de móviles.

- EBusiness and WebApplications: Ni idea, sinceramente me quedé igual que al entrar al curso. Un amasijo de transparencias sin ningun sentido entre ellas y que hacian al propio profesor dudar de que estaba enseñando.

- Vision System: Analisis de imagenes, busqueda de patrones, formas, colores... Pero el profesor tenia bastante poca idea asi que al final se quedó en un amago de interesante.

- Lego Robots: La mas entretenida de todas. Te daban un robot y tenias que programarlo para que esquivara obstáculos y siguiera una luz. A continuación teneis un video de mi campeón (que ganó sin dificultad al grupo de daneses frikis).



En la mayoría de las clases había que hacer presentación de las practicas conforme las ibamos haciendo de manera que el miedo a hablar en público y en inglés se te va quitando dia tras dia. Los profesores se preocupan de que aprendas y que demuestres lo que has trabajado, nada que ver con España (Incluso se saben tu nombre).
Por último una cosa que me llamó la atención es que en los examenes no está solo tu profesor sino que viene un profesor ajeno a la facultad y te examinan ambos (Oral generalmente) para conseguir un resultado mas imparcial y objetivo.



Reyes Magos (5 Enero)
La mayoria de nosotros volvimos de navidades el día 3, así que nos quedamos sin regalito de Reyes en España. Eso... es España... porque aquí celebramos nuestra propia noche de Reyes. Una cena de todos los españoles en el pasillo y para rematar amigo invisible y roscón de Reyes (Hecho por Mery y Patry y muy bueno por cierto jeje)




Supercumple (19 Enero)
No se que mania le ha dado a la gente de nacer el mismo mes que yo, pero el caso es que en enero tuvimos 7 cumpleaños.
Hellen (6), Laura (10), Diego (12), Armin (13), Manel (18), Jurate (22) y el mio el 15.
Los pospusimos por estar de examenes y al acabarlos nos dimos una superfiesta todos juntos.
Muchisimas gracias a todos por lo bien que montasteis todo y por lo currado de los posters que nos regalasteis.


Después de la cena, nos fuimos a una fiesta en la common room y a dormir la mona que nos pillamos una buena con tanta sangria.



Fiesta en Aarhus (21 Enero)
Como no fue suficiente con la fiesta del Viernes, el sábado decidimos irnos a Aarhus a pegarnos una fiesta de despedida de toda la gente que solo iba a estar un cuatrimestre :_(
La fiesta fue impresionante, algunos se lo pasaron mejor que otros jejeje pero fue bastante animada. Intentaré subir un video de este dia esta semana ;)



Esta semana os iré actulizando un poco mas, porque ahora mismo estoy que me caigo de sueño y mañana tengo clase :P



More than one month without news from me. But don't worry too much I'm back again and still alive.

Courses & School
I came back from the xmas on 3rd to make the examinations.
It was better than I could expect. Most of the courses have big amount of practices and they're really interesting (If we compared with the "funny" courses that we have in Spain :))
Apart of english lessons and one course about project methodology, here you have a small resume of my courses from last semester:

- Compiler Construction: Basically we need to create a compiler based on a grammer that we have invented. Really interesting. The final mark is based on the functionality of the compiler (Token scanner, parser of code, context analizer, execution...)

- Linux Server Administration: Could be more interesting if the teacher wouldn't miss the 50% of the lessons, but at least i've learnt some interesting things about Linux :)

- WireLess Communication: A lot of theory but in the practices you learn a lot about mobile phone programming.

- EBusiness and WebApplications: No idea... really... right now I know the same about that course that at the beginning of the semester. A bunch of transparencies without any sense between them that sometimes makes the teacher to be lost. I think that he even didn't understand what he was speaking about.

- Vision System: Image analysis, search for patterns, shapes, colors... But the teacher didn't have enough idea about that so wasn't really interesting at all.

- Lego Robots: The most funny course. Easy idea: You get one robot and you must program it to skip obstacles and follow one light. Following you can see one video of my winner robot (That won without any difficulties to the danish group hihihihi).

In most of the courses you needed to make a presentation of your work in progress almost every 2 weeks. So you took out your shyness to speak in public and in english in the first weeks.
The teachers care about you, that you learn and demostrate your knowledges, nothing similar to Spain :(
Finally one thing that made me to be surprised was that in the oral examination you have two examinators: your teacher and another external person (to make the examination more objetive and fair).

Three Magic Kings Night (Friday 5th)
Almost all us came back from xmas on 3rd, so we didn't have present from the Three Magic Kings in Spain. Well... no in Spain but here we celebrated our own Three Kings Night. A really nice dinner with all the spanish in the corridor of our residence (Kamtjatka) and at the end we received the present from our invisible friend :_)



Birthdays (Friday 19th)
A lot of our friends (and me) were born in January: Hellen (6th), Laura (10th), Diego (12th), Armin (13th), Manel (18th), Jurate (22th) and me (15th).
We delayed the parties because of the examinations and after finished them we made a really nice party all together.
Thank you a lot for the nice presents that you made.
After the dinner, we went to the party in common room and then went to sleep absolutly drunk (Sangria...)




Party in Aarhus (Saturday 20th)
Farewell party for all our friends that left from first semester. We decided to go to some disco in Aarhus and was really nice, even if some of us were as drunk that they slept in the disco hehe. I'll try to make a video for the next week and put some pictures.

Finally at home

Pues si, finalmente en casa!. Después de darme un viajecito de tres horas y media en tren de Horsens hasta el aeropuerto de Copenhagen, esperar a facturar y embarcar. Tres de avion hasta Madrid, cambio de avión y una hora hasta Málaga. Pero por fin llegué :D.
Ahora a disfrutar, descansar y aprovechar que para el 3 de Enero estoy de vuelta en Dinamarca.

Yeahhh finally at home!. After a "little" trip of three and half hours by train from Horsens to Copenhagen Airpot, wait until board... Three hours flight to Madrid, change the plane and another hour to Málaga. But finally I arrived :D
Now time to have fun with my family & friends, have a rest, and enjoy until the 3rd when I'll go back to Denmark.
